Today is Day 1 of the Akumina Community site, but I feel like I’ve been talking about a site like this for a long time.
I wholeheartedly believe in this crazy idea that people who build digital experiences should have a place of their own to crowd source best practices, see each other’s work, and have a direct line to someone like me at their software company of choice.
And at Akumina, I want to put a friendly face (and oddball personality) to a company whose sole purpose is to make it easier for people to do their jobs.
To that end, this community site features:
So, why did we build this? Two huge reasons:
When I came here in February, I jumped out of the open-source waters of Acquia and straight into the deep end of this community. I left a digital experience software company for an employee experience company. I don’t see much of any differences in what we do. And I see much of same ethos of open source and democratizing innovation sewn into the fabric of this community site.
Now, we aren’t going to share our original recipe or secret sauce, but we’ll certainly fry up some food within public view. That’s OK because we stand behind our product.
And we stand behind our users. This is your site. You cannot over-use it.
